Timisoara-based post-metal project “Vaarcloc” releases first full-length album entitled ‘Contururi’, after 12 years since the project’s inception.
VAARCLOC is an instrumental post metal solo project initiated by Erwin Weber in 2013. The name represents the anagram of the romanian word ‘Vârcolac’, which translates to ‘Werewolf’. This mythological creature, known to be half-man, half-wolf, serves as a metaphor for antithesis. Anagramming this creature’s name metaphorically shows how the line between good and evil has become blurred.
Blending post-rock, post-metal with elements of post-black metal, “Contururi” is an album that explores the gradual loss of form and clarity, capturing the flow between presence and dissolution through six symbolic, atmospheric tracks.
“Contururi” is out now on all major streaming platforms and available on a limited run of 50 cassettes.
